My sister purchased samsung star touch mobile phone. I borrowed the mobile phone from her. I spend two hours with Star touch. I mainly focused on the internet abilities of the phone.

I open my website 'blogya.in' in browser available. The pages are opening. Since I have the mobile version of drupal template my sites displayed in samsung star touch screen without any breakups.

The scrolling is intuitive. I need to move my finger up and down, right and left to browse the web site. If the web page is lengthier than display, I have to push my finger upwards in the display. The page scrolls at your finger tip.

I have a javascript program in my website. Which is not working in Samsung star touch mobile browser. I checked several times. Javascript does not fire. This is related to web master point of view. If javascript is not working, many affiliate or PPC scripts would not yield income from your websites when browsed from samsung star touch.

When I check the same website in Nokia's opera browser, javascript fires perfectly.

I have to tell about the speed. I browsed using Airtel (SIM) connection. My website which is having less or no graphic content took the time of a dialup connection more than 5 years back. I am not aware of what is the right bandwidth and speed for using Samsung Star Touch at ease. At least they might have mentioned it in their advertisement.

Next , I connected youtube. Their mobile version of youtube opened. I searched for my favorite 'Hips Don't Lie'. Samsung star touch started screening and screeming the Sakira's song. The picture quality and sound quality was not upto my satisfaction. I am not sure this is due to wireless internet connectivity speed or something else. By seeing the ad for Samsung Star touch in TV, I had big expectation for its ability to interact with internet.

Next I opened flickr, facebook, picasso. I was waiting and on, but no display. I was not able to see pictures. In my website, I have a page full of images(http://www.blogya.in/s/a11), which is opening but no pictures shown. I was waiting for a while and disconnected.

I appreciate the quality of its display screen. It might have used Samsung's LCD TV quality.

did not test the regular features of a mobile phone. I reviewed only its ability to interact with internet as shown in the TV advertisement.

It may be too early to release such product when India's wireless broadband connectivity is not up to the mark.
