Will Samsung Marine be suitable for Indian Market? According to the advertisement shown in TV, it is suitable for Whitewater Rafting, Scuba divers, fishermen, and Trekking.
Rafting, Scuba diving and Trekking professionals are very few in Indian population.
There is trekking traffic at himalayas, mostly they are foreigners.
A range of rafting options is available mainly on the river Indus and its major tributaries.
I am not aware whether fishermen get the Signal or tower in the mid sea whatever mobile they use. When the come to shore or land, they can use any type of mobile phone, not specific devices which are water proof like samsung marine.
Is a water proof mobile phone is needed for ordinary Indian public? Even if the tear and wear, resistance are high for Samsung marine, it can be advertised differently rather than Rafting.
Ad might be like: A youth playing cricket, doing batting. He keeps his mobile phone in his pant or shirt pocket. The fast cricket ball hits his pocket. But the phone inside the pocket is not affected. He makes a fifty of century. It took his phone, call his girl friend or somebody to inform his achievement. Even the phone was hit by the hard cricket ball many times, it is not affected. Because It is Samsung Marine or Tough.
This might be a perfect ad for Indian market which is obsessed with Cricket, not Rafting or Scuba diving which are rare or costly sports in India.
My friend is using LG KE590 mobile phone. He slipped his mobile phone in bucket, full of water. He dried the immersed phone in Sun rays. After drying it worked well. It happened 2 years back. He is still using it. All the features are working perfectly. Recently he lost its Joy Stick. Not able to find a new Joy Stick for the model he is using.
Some mobile phone models are having water proof feature by default like samsung marine. This is without the awareness of its manufacturer, otherwise they would have advertised it.
