Multi Level Marketing (MLM) Harassment

Sometimes, all of a sudden your friend, colleague, and neighbor act like a strange people if they promote any MLM. Their attitude will change. They become too caring and trying to help you in your life till you say ‘NO’.

Multi Level Marketing is thriving now days. I do not know the MLM business in ancient time or even till 18th century there was no evident of MLM in the business world. Only Religions have been spread and maintained through MLM approach. An approach of evangelism introduced to business through MLM. Evangelism in business is the latest trend in Silicon Civilization. Your work and life has no difference. Like a priest or saint, the work/business has to be evangelized.

Today MLM has been spread into every family. When I was about to join Amway, I thought soon all members of my family would enroll below me. Then I have ‘motivate’ them. That’s all. But I came to know, my father, my brother, my elder sister, my uncle, my mother were already Amway distributor. Only my younger sister was left out since she has not completed 18 years of age. They belong to different up lines. They all started to harass me to join below them.

When my colleague joined ‘Gold quest’ he started evangelizing it. His marketing went beyond my tolerance. Even in office hours he started harassing me. Many others stop speaking to him. I too tried to avoid him. He was not allowing me to say ‘NO’. He kept pushing me to ‘YES’ corner.

Many MLM distributors (yes, they are distributors, distributing distributorship) loose their friends, relatives, neighbors due to non-stop evangelism. Few other colleagues ran at the sight of my colleague cum MLM distributor. He believed me, as I am a leader. If I join below him, his growth will be faster. Many MLM evangelist make this mistakes always. ‘S/he possess leadership. If s/he joins then I will succeed in business quickly.’ They chase their ‘leadership target’ like integrated missile. Their evangelism reaches a stage of harassment. Till date, there is no legal protection from MLM harassment.

I do not like to maintain any relationship, if that relation does not giving me the freedom to say ‘NO’. Relationship Stress, irritation begins when you are not able to say ‘NO’. MLM people never accept ‘NO’. They drive us to say ‘YES’. Many MLM sign-up are due to their ‘marketing harassment’. It may be an initial success to them, but these ‘forced distributors’ will give up the MLM distributorship soon.

In religion, only one is enlightened and rest is following the enlightened. This is applicable to Multi Level Marketing too. In MLM less than 1% of the overall members are getting prosperous. Rest is running like anything. Those who are successful their major strength is ‘Cold Call’ not harassing their known circle. You have few hundred known people and few million unknown people. Your cold calls are unlimited.

MLM evangelist who is torturing their known circle will quit the business after everybody in the known circle say ‘NO’.

If you really want to succeed in MLM, do cold call; learn to pursue a stranger rather than your colleague who is sitting next to you.
