In the wordly life we do this action only by the mundane influences that drag us to & enjoy such pleasure above which one is not able to think even. But real SURRENDER that makes one feel happy or enjoy BLISSFUL STATE is that one we do with GOD our Saviour.

For attaining oneness with GOD we have two means. One is through EGO or BIG I and another is surrender.

Let us examine those in detail:

EGO: One is able to boast of his wordly possession and powers that give him a FALSE STAUTS in the society. This leads him to assume that he is powerful and thinks he can do anything in this world by his influence. That is EGO.

In spiritual world too the position is same. Even now as well in olden days including great saints like DHURVASA MAHARSHI and demons like Ravana or Kamsa were not exception to this MENTAL IMMATURITY, even after severe and great penance. But even with giants like him had to face their end with more powerful persons like Rama or Krishna.

In this context we have to consider the fact the MAN IS ONLY AN INSIGNIFICANT PART OF UNIVERSE CREATED BY GOD WITH ALL HIS COMPASSION. Yet he has in him the DIVINITY of which he is not aware of. If he is able to know the truth then the small EGO vanishes replaced by BIG EGO "I AM GOD" - AHAM BRAHMASMY. But mere knowledge would not help us. An acid test faced with life would alone help us to know the fact.

The episode in Sri Rama Krishna Parama Hamsa will throw light on this aspect. One Sadhak who know all these facts was trampled over by an Rouge Elephant. To this question Sri Rama Krishna replied " My son the man who was sitting on the elephant warned you. In fact he was also a part of Divinity. You did not pay heed to his warning. The ATMAN in you was asked this in his but you were not aware of this fact. Hense the trouble.

Yet another example is that at time our teeth bite our own tongue. For this we do not remove our teeth for this action. We humbly accept it as a mistake done by us. That tells we have to accept good or bad with equanimity of mind. If one overcomes the trials successfully and accepts both with calmness then only one is BIG I without EGO. So here also we have to face many problems to know the real meaning of BIG SELF.

SURRENDER :

Here it is not FLY AWAY FROM FACING FACTS. It is not cowardiness. But facing problems bravely with the DIVINE GUIDANCE and SECURITY which no human being can give even to his near and dear. Only TRUE AND UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER WOULD HELP ONE FROM THE CLUTCHES OF LIFE RECYCLING.

In RAMAYANA Sri VIBHEESHANA surrendered to Sri Rama and that is considered to be the great. Even though he was the brother of Ravana he knew that is right and what is Dharma and so he followed the path of Dharma even though he faced troubles.

Yet another example for unconditional surrender is that of Emperor Janaka who stood calm even who he heard that the country was on fire. He told his GURU YAKJAVALKA that when he has surrendered to him there is nothing for him to protect. It was his master's duty to look after the welfare of the King and Kingdom. But such a mental condition is indeed very rare.

From our own experience we could see how it works in daily life. We go to the Doctor in a very critical condition and he saves our life after administering rare medicines, if necessary operation in some cases. We proclaim him as our saviour. We tell him we surrender ourself to him since he being our benefactor. But the attitude changes altogether when he get the medical bills the runs into 5 figures. Then we forget all his services and call him a day-light robber man to charge such enormous bill. So where did all our so called Surrender go? It is due to the immature condition of the mind when we say this that we surrender to the Doctor. So oly a matured mind in a health body could think of such and extreme condition of SURRENDER.

At times we think even of ourself taking a hasty decision in such a condition. It is due to fact that at the time of trial we loose our balance of mind and go back to old position. If only one has true TRANQUILITY OF MIND to weight the pros and cons of any situation one can face in life will have the mental strength to SURRENDER.

So of this tow methods mentioned above it is SURE AND SAFE IS SURRENDER than the BIG EGO which is in a very slippery ground. Only SURRENDER with SILVER LINNING OF GOD'S GRACE AND GLORY help one during our own life time.
