Highways to Happiness

| |

Happiness is an elusive term experienced by man. This cannot be explained by men of worldly life. But, spiritual men always enjoy this bliss.

I had an occasion to meet to no less than the Professor of Economics of Berlin. University(Germany) who said that, like many others from Europe spend their vacation in India thought they have all material. In reality all the so called posessions of life - Men, meoney and material will never be a source of happiness. 'Happiness' is not a marketable commodity. but a rare mental disposition experienced by man.

Happiness (inner) sublimes into a smile or a hearty laugh without any tinge of negative Qualities like jealousy, anger or hatred.

Supereme happiness or BLISSFULL STATE leads to self realisation. This process is hastened by the company of good men and blessings of spiritual men.

Mind stuff as it is known has two compartments- The outer and the inner. Even a small thought is recorded in the inner mind and it becomes a very very thin layer in the mind itself. Such thoughts piles up together to form HABIT or VASANAS. This is carried on from birth to birth of that particular soul and that individual experienes resulting in good or bad action. These indelible marks are not at all eroded by time.

The cause of action (Karma) so subtle makes vibrations of high frequyencey which act slowly and steadily resulting in his doing good or bad action at the proper time and place.

A thought good or bad is both bondage making one to have a birth to enjoy the fruits of his own action. Release from such bondage once for all is called self realisation. For this one should be pure in thought, word and deed. One should feel that he is only an instrument for all his actions and not the doer. In that state even though one is in wordly life he is not affected by any of his actions. Such a state of unconditional surrender would alone lead one to happiness and nothing short of it.

How to achieve it? By constant practice and unselfish activities, always in communion with saintly people, truly worishipping God and following the religious instructions of various faith.

Religion and places of worship are the only means to the end and not the end in themselves.

To conclude, unconditional surrender to the supreme alone is the only road to "HAPPINESS".
