Importance of IMEI number of the mobile phone.

IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) is the unique identification number assigned to every mobile phone.

If you are using a costly mobile phone, you should know your IMEI number of your mobile phone. In case if you lost or your mobile phone is stolen, you can trace it by the IMEI number.

Other use of this number is by informing to the network service provider, you can completely disable the mobile phone you lost. So other person can not use it even by changing to other sim cards.

The thief can not sell or use your phone.

To know your IMEI number type *#06# in your mobile phone. I tested this with Nokia and Sony Ericsson models. Hope this will work with all models.
