Ingredients:
1. basmati rice – 2 cups
2. caret - 1 no
3. beans - 5 nos
4. coconut - ½ in size ( use this coconut prepare milk by using mixi)
5. garlic and ginger equally
6. green chilly - 2 nos
7. salt - needed
Preparations:
1. Soak the rice for half an hour.
2. Add oil to the pan. fry vegetables
3. Add ginger garlic , green chilly paste
4. Add coconut milk lke the ratio is 1:2 (1 cup of rice : 2 cups coconut milk)
5. Add salt needed
6. Bring the mixture to a boil and add the rice.
Tip: Let the rice cook in pressure cooker for
15 min in sim fire.
- Navathaaniya kofta curry- Ingredients:
For koftas
1. potatoes (boiled &mashed)----- 2 nos
2. Navathaaniyam(boiled &mashed) ----- 1\4 kg
3. garam masala ------- 1 tsp
4. red chili powder---- 1 tsp
5. corn floor
6. salt needed
7. turmeric powder
For gravy:
1. onion ------ 2nos (medium)
2. tomato----- 3 nos(medium)
3. ginger garlic paste ----2 tsp
4. curd --------------------- 2 tsp
5. dhaniya powder--------2 tsp
6. garam masala powder ---------- 1 tsp
7. red chili powder--------2 tsp
8. salt
9. turmeric powder
method:
To make koftas mix mashed potatoes, navathaaniyam,salt,garammasala ,red chili powder,turmeric powder . Roll out in to small ball and put this ball in to corn floor and deep fry.
- Ellu thuvayal- Ingredients:
1. Ellu ----- 100 gms
2.Red chillies----- 10 nos
3.garlic -------- 6flakes
4.coconut --------- 5 slices
5. salt to taste
Method:
fry ellu (no need oil) in a pan. Heat oil in a pan add red chillies ,garlic,salt,coconut.Add Fried ellu in this content and grind it.
Ellu thuvayal is very good combination for idlies and doasa's. Ellu is very good for health and it has protein. Try this recipe and enjoy it.
- kollu thuvayal- Ingredients:
1.kollu -----1/2 cup
2.Red chillies -----6
3.garlic ------ 3 flakes
4.coconut ------ 3 slices
5.urad dhall---1 tsp
5.salt need to taste
Method:
Fry kollu in a pan.Heat oil in a pan add red chillies,urad dhall, garlic,salt .Add coconut in this and grind it.
- Pudhina thuvayal- Ingredients:
1. Pudhina ---- 1 cup
2. Green leaves --- 1 cup
3. Corriender leaves -- 1 cup
4. Red chilies --- 5 nos
5. Garlic --- 5 flakes
6. Urad dhal --- 1tsp
7. Bengal gram ---- 1 tsp
8. Ginger --- 1 piece
9. Tamarind ----- little bit
10. Coconut ----- 4 slices
11. Salt to taste
Method:
1.Heat oil in a pan. Add red chilies, Urad dhal, Bengal gram, garlic, ginger and fry it.
2. Then add mint, green leaves, coriander leaves,coconut, salt fry this also in a pan.
- Vegetables Poritha Kootu Recipe- Ingredients:
Green Gram Dhal - 1/4 Cup
Beans Chopped 1/2 Cup
Carrot chopped - 1
Potato Cubed -1
Peas - 1/2 Cup
Turmeric Powder
Salt
Boil Green Gram Dhal Separately and keep
Boil all the vegetables with salt and turmeric.
For Paste
Oil
Cumin Seeds
Pepper Balls
Red Chilies
Perungaya Thool
Grated Coconut - 2 tbsp
Saute all the above ingredients and make it as a paste.
Once Vegetables are boiled, add mashed dhal and the paste and allow to boil. Then again saute it with urud dhal, mustard,red chilly and karuveppilai
- Bisibela bath recipe- This is little bit different from the usual way of preparing bisibela bath. This tastes very good as all the spices are grinded freshly and added.
Rice - 1 cup
Thoor Dhal - 1 Cup
Capsicum
Brinjal
Potato
Green Peas
Carrot
Boil rice and Thoor Dhall nicely and keep aside
Ingredeints for the paste
oil,
red chilly
Corriander Seeds ( Thaniya )
Green Gram Dhal
Poppy Seeds
Pattai Lavangam
Fenugreek Seeds (Vendhayum)
Asofoetida (perungaya thool)
Grated cocunut
Saute all the above in oil by adding one by one and make it as a fine paste.
- oats pongal- Oats pongal
preparation time : 5 mins
Cooking time : 15 mins
Serves :2
Quantity Ingredients:
2 cups Rolled Oats
1/4cup Green gram dal(moong dal)
3 cups Water
1 teaspoon Cumin powder
10-15 nos Curry leaves
to taste Salt
25g Broken cashewnuts
1/4 teaspoon Oil and ghee
Method:
1. Cook dal using 1 cup of water until soft
2.Fry oats using little ghee until it changes its colour
- oats corn soup- Oats corn soup
preparation time : 3 mins
Cooking time : 30 mins
Serves :2
Quantity Ingredients:
2 tablespoon Oats
450g Corn(cream style)
1/2 tablespoon Soya sauce
1 tablespoon Chopped spring onion greens
to taste salt
Method:
1.Mix all the ingredients expect the spring onion greens together.
2. Cook for 25 mins
3.Serve hot.Garnish with spring onion greens.
