About my friend Nooril Hassan

| |

After a gulf gap Nooril Hassan called me up today afternoon. We spoke protracted over the telephone. It was nice moments after such along time.

I thought after his marriage it is impossible to meet him, because he might be 'arrested' by his spouse, moreover he might be busy with his religious activities and job and especially with new wife.

But to the straight contrast to my notion, he remembers me how much I remember him.

I feel for his behavior that he is shutting himself with his religion and religious people. The shell of Islam is his home. He drives his knowledge and language from Quran. After his marriage the English language embrace him through his wife, hence she is a teacher.

He always speaks about his religion. He breaths his religion.

I have a niche in his mind as the listener of his religious philosophy rather than a friend. For him everything is religion.

I know that many Hindu or non-Islamic friends take their heels or amok at the sight of Nooril Hassan. He behaves and speaks as he is the spokesman of his religion. He always confesses the truth of Quran upto his knowledge.

As a Hindu, I should oppose his religious obsess. As of myself, I am lover of Intellectual knowledge. This makes the nice bridge between me and him. I gather knowledge without minding its source. I mind knowledge rather than its soruce. I admire truths of bible rather than christianity. I practice truths of Quran rather than calling myself as Muslim. Not only muslim I do not even want to be called as Hindu. I do not like to be called by the 'roads' we travel. I follow truth from wherever it comes.

This is the main reason which has strengthen our 'friendship'. He is the mediator for me to interpretate Quran. I believe, practice what I have known from him. I like to execute what I know rather than promulgating what I know.

I am still a absorber to Nooril Hassan, not only to his religious truths, but for his personal morals or discipline and to his Inter-Personal skills. I am an admirer and absorber to his interpersonal skills.

Today, he told about the difference between 'said' and 'told'. He told about the relation between the number 19 and Quran. We once more remembered the 'Koolu Gowlan Sadhitha'. This sentence made me a man without hesitation.

A good book is the best friend. He is better than a best book.
